So this is Bella the Romanian Rescue dog. Bella's mom is a registered veterinary nurse & she brought Bella to the Salon for Ultrasonic teeth cleaning sessions. I was unsure whether Bella was a good candidate for Emmi-pet sessions, due to her being nervous aggressive & not allowing the brush into her mouth at first. We did not force the session & went with what Bella felt comfortable with. With little steps at a time, lots of treats & praise Bella became relaxed, allowing cleaning sessions to progress. Due to Bella being nervous and the need to take things slowly, Bella's mom bought a block of five sessions for £100 allowing us to proceed at a gentle pace which Bella finds more comfortable. Bella came every week for her appointments and is now a totally different dog, showing no aggression at all and is very relaxed with the cleaning procedure. On arriving she now actually pulls her mom into the salon.  Mom also purchased the oral hygiene gel which improves & maintains results. She applies this every evening to help me & Bella get faster and better results. Bella's Mom brought Bella to the salon at the right time, preventing the periodontal disease she had becoming irreversible. Periodontal disease doesn't just affect the mouth it can cause damage & health conditions to the heart, kidneys & other organs & can even lead to blindness. Unfortunately if periodontal disease is left untreated it can lead to costly vets bills of over £1000, the vet may need to remove some or all of the teeth and may even have to put a dog to sleep. On average dogs with good oral hygiene live approximately 2-4 years longer than dogs without. Teeth cleaning is not just about saving money, its about prolonging life. I'm glad I dedicated the time & effort to get Bella's teeth back to such an amazing standard. It gave me great job satisfaction & also taught me that with a little patience from all parties nearly all dogs can receive the Emmi-pet treatment plan.
